Gregory Artry Jr. is a drummer, composer, educator, and highly sought-after collaborator whose artistry is defined by versatility, discipline, and an extraordinary devotion to music. Born in Pomona, California and raised in Indianapolis, Gregory's musical gifts were nurtured early through formal study in cello, piano, voice, and drum set, alongside strong academic achievement in science and mathematics. He is a graduate of Broad Ripple High School's Performing Arts Magnet Program and continued his studies in Engineering at Purdue University before pursuing Jazz Studies with an emphasis on drum set at the University of Louisville.

A first-call artist in the Midwest and a powerful presence on Chicago's music scene since the age of 20, Gregory has worked across jazz, R&B, soul, gospel, and experimental music. His career includes international touring and recording on nearly every continent, a cameo appearance on The Chi, and a performance with Pakistani soul artist Zeshan B on The Tonight Show. His commitment to music is rare and unmistakable, marked by the kind of resilience that led him to continue working for a year through a torn right Achilles, the very foot central to a drummer's command of time, power, and feel.

Rooted in excellence, collaboration, and service, Gregory approaches music as breath, language, and calling.
